PALEMBANG, Indonesia, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese tennis player Wang Qiang defeated Aldilla Sutjiadi the only Indonesian player left in the Asian Games (6-4, 6-3) stopping her from advancing further in a women's single quarterfinal match here on Wednesday.

The Asian Games no. 2 female tennis player Wang received tough resistance from the Indonesian contender in the first set, leveling it 4-all before Wang bested Aldilla with a score of 6-4 to end the first set and going on to win the match.

"I have already demonstrated all my best in the match, but she was far better. It was not easy to return her balls. She was excellent in ball placement. I accept this results," Aldilla said.

"She has the strongest of all the opponents that I have met before," she added.

With this defeat, Indonesia has lost its chance to earn any medals from tennis at the Asiad.

In another women's single quarterfinal match, China's Zhang Shuai seized her semifinal berth after trashing her South Korean contender Han Na-lae in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

In the semifinal, the Asian Games no. 1 female tennis player will vie against India's Raina Ankita Ravinderkrishan who advanced to the last four after stopping Ching Eudice Wong of Hong Kong, China in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
