ISLAMABAD, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Two terrorists were killed in a joint operation by police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, police said on Friday.
The intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Domail area of Bannu district in KP, Deputy Inspector General of the District Police Sajjad Khan said in a statement.
The slain terrorists were wanted in several cases. One of them was identified as the mastermind of an attack that killed four CTD officials, according to police.
A cache of weapons, hand grenades and organizational material was seized during the operation. Security forces later launched a search in the area to trace accomplices, police added.
The officer vowed to continue operations until the region was cleared of militants. ■
