TIANJIN, June 26 (Xinhua) -- A new plant of German motor company Innomotics in Tianjin, northern China, began operations on Friday.

The facility, backed by an investment of about 600 million yuan (about 88 million U.S. dollars), is the company's most comprehensive R&D and production base for high-voltage and large low-voltage motors outside Germany.

Designed with digital and green priorities, the Tianjin plant operates 20 percent more efficiently than traditional manufacturing models. At full capacity, it is expected to generate a total motor output of 2,500 MW annually. The company has set a target to achieve net-zero emissions in its production processes by 2045.

The new facility is a key pillar in Innomotics' global capacity network. Oliver Beck, president of the Innomotics HV Division, highlighted China's robust industrial ecosystem and local supply chain as core advantages. "China is not only a leading market but also a critical hub for advanced R&D and manufacturing, and that combination is essential to our global success."

With the global energy transition and push for low-carbon development reshaping industrial landscapes, demand for efficient motors and large drive systems is set to grow. Innomotics also sees Tianjin's diverse local application scenarios and fast-paced innovation environment as key drivers of the company's continuous product improvement.

Thomas Wünsche, global executive chairman of Innomotics, noted that with the Tianjin facility now operational, the company is well-positioned to capture early-mover advantages by addressing green development and industrial upgrading trends.

Innomotics, headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany, is a global leading company in motors and large drive systems with operations in 49 countries and regions.
