BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Ren Yuzhong, previously a vice president of China's prestigious Peking University, has been indicted on charges of accepting bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate announced on Wednesday.
The indictment follows the conclusion of an investigation into Ren's suspected serious violations of discipline and the law. The investigation was announced in an official statement in September 2025 after Ren voluntarily surrendered.
Ren, also a former member of the standing committee of the Peking University committee of the Communist Party of China, is accused of taking advantage of his various former positions at the university to seek benefits for others in exchange for extremely large sums of money and valuable gifts.
Ren's case has been filed by the municipal people's procuratorate of Dandong in northeast China's Liaoning Province to the city's intermediate people's court. ■
