Preston John Thomas, president of a charity dining event and a food blogger from the U.S., has lived in Beijing for 15 years.

Thomas appreciates the city's international vibe, especially the increasing number of authentic foreign restaurants.

Now Thomas sees China as his second home, saying Beijing is a place that "grows on you if you give it a chance."
