KIEV, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Russian missile and drone strikes on the Ukrainian capital early Friday injured 12 people and caused a partial power outage in the city, said Kiev's Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The left bank of the Dnipro River in eastern Kiev is experiencing blackouts and water supply disruptions, Klitschko said on Telegram.
The strikes, targeting critical infrastructure, also damaged two apartment buildings and vehicles, he added.
Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kiev Regional State Administration, said that 28,000 households in the Kiev region were left without electricity following the attack on energy facilities.
In Brovary on the eastern outskirts of Kiev, three apartment buildings, four commercial premises, and several vehicles were damaged.
Ukraine's largest private energy company DTEK said its engineers are working to restore power supplies. ■
