MOSCOW, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday underlined the potential for further cooperation.

"The relations between Armenia and Russia are developing steadily in all directions. They concern the political, military, security and economic spheres," Putin told Pashinyan in the Kremlin.

Russia is the top economic partner of Armenia and their trade grew by almost 30 percent last year. "The scope of our cooperation is great," Putin said.

Pashinyan said Armenia-Russia relations are developing dynamically and their main task is to tap further cooperation potential.

Armenia, which was part of the former Soviet Union, is a member of the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union and Collective Security Treaty Organization, an intergovernmental military alliance.
