KABUL, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Three soldiers of U.S.-led NATO coalition forces were killed following a suicide bomb blast in Afghanistan's eastern Parwan province on Sunday, the coalition forces said.

"Three Resolute Support (RS) service members were killed by a suicide bomber during a combined, dismounted patrol with Afghan forces in eastern Afghanistan," the coalition said in the statement.

A U.S. soldier and two Afghan National Army troops were also injured in the blast, according to the statement.

The statement gave neither the nationalities of the killed nor the details about the incident under the RS policy.

Meanwhile, Taliban outfit has claimed responsibility for the incident and the outfit's spokesman Zabihullah Majahid told local media that a suicide car bombing launched by a Taliban fighter has caused casualties on the foreign forces in the province 55 km north of Kabul.

Taliban militants, who ruled the country before being ousted in late 2001, renewed armed insurgency, killing government troops as well as civilians.

They have intensified armed attacks against security forces across the country since April 25 when the Taliban's so-called yearly rebel offensive started.
