HOUSTON, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Austin Police in Texas announced Wednesday evening that they have obtained a cell phone recording from the dead suspected serial parcel bomber, where he described the seven explosive devices he had made.

According to the phone recording, Mark Anthony Conditt, the 23-year-old suspected of sending a string of parcel bombs that terrorized Austin, did not mention terrorism or hate, but challenges in his personal life, Austin Police said at a news conference.

Police said they traced the seven explosive devices mentioned in the recording. The last one was the one that ended his life.

Early Wednesday morning, a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team tracked down Conditt at a hotel parking near Round Rock, a city about 30 km north of Austin.

Conditt drove away, then stopped in a ditch and detonated a device as the SWAT team approached his vehicle.

The team confirmed his death.

Austin, capital of Texas, suffered several parcel bombs since March 2. Two people died from the parcels and at least six were injured.

After the fifth parcel bomb exploded early Tuesday, injuring one person at a FedEx distribution center near San Antonio, the sixth package was found at another FedEx facility by the Austin airport and deactivated by law enforcement agents.
