PARIS, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Biathlon double Olympic gold medalist Martin Fourcade was among 89 athletes unveiled by French Olympic Committee on Thursday as the second batch for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

France won a total of 15 medals, including four gold, at the Sochi Winter Olympics four years ago.

Fourcade won 20km individual and 12.5km pursuit gold medals, and one silver in 15km mass start in Sochi. He was appointed as the flagbearer of the French delegation in PyeongChang last September.

Snowboarder Pierre Vaultier and freestyle skier Jean-Frederic Chapuis, two other gold medalists in Sochi, were also in Thursday's list.

The number of French athletes in PyeongChang so far has been 99, as the first batch of 10 athletes, including Olympic ice dance title favorites Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, was announced last December.

The French Olympic Committee also revealed on Thursday that the final nine athletes in alpine skiing will be announced on Sunday, bringing the total number of French athletes at the quadrennial event to 108 this year, compared with 114 in Sochi.

The PyeongChang Winter Olympics will be held from February 9 to 25.
